A’oloau

A’oloau, or "Fog Village," is perched high on Mount Olotele, offering scenic views and a cool misty climate. Originally settled along the northern coast, the village moved to its mountaintop location in the 1940s for better access and farming opportunities. Visitors can hike from A’oloaufou to Aʻasu on Massacre Bay, enjoying breathtaking landscapes and learning about the village’s seafaring and agricultural past.
